So! Our good friends over at the Miskatonic Playhouse only managed to go and get early access to the fantastic new game book ‘Regency Cthulhu’ for the Call of Cthulhu Role-playing Game 7th edition! Sure they had to sign their souls away to play it before it came out but their sacrifice is worth it for your entertainment! Now this was supposed to be launched on the day the Regency Cthulhu book became available for purchase but at the 11th hour the book release was paused which is a real shame as so much hard work had gone into the launch with no one as disappointed as the folk at Chaosium. Fortunately the playhouse was given the go ahead to launch the Actual Play with Mike Mason, Creative Director of Call of Cthulhu giving them a shout out on Facebook!
The name of the Miskatonic Playhouse actual play is Cult and Culpability which revolves around the influential Prideux family at the start of the Regency era. The family members and their aids become unwitting investigators after the establishing events of act one and two below. Playing the investigators are not only members of the Miskatonic Playhouse but also some of the amazing Stars Are Right podcast!
Our own Cosmic Outpost plays the role of Revered George Prideux in the show and has the unenviable task of also editing and mastering the show for playback with the Playhouse’s Pete Doom taking care of the video side of things. Speaking of videos, we will have a video about how Cosmic created the character appearing here soon – well, once we know when the book is due out!
In the meantime, find yourself some time, join the Reverend, Miss Lambert – cousin of the two adult children Thomas and Anastasia and Mr Chambers the loyal servant as they get ready on New Year Eve for Cult and Culpability!
