Welcome to the February blog, where we continue to explore the world that is Roll4Sanity. As we use this blog to look back in later years on how far we’ve come, here we are in this wonderful February 2025 to kick off the new month.
First up, let’s talk about the stunning image you see above. This is Axes Grimsson, a character I created for an online play-by-text game. When this image came out of the AI, I was blown away by the armor and the light shining over the metal. Axes Grimsson is a proud, strong warrior ready to defend his castle, complete with a built-in waterfall. Although he hasn’t seen much action yet, he’s already made an impression by yelling “fire the cannon” at some invaders. This image you see at the top of this blog perfectly captures his essence and adds depth to his character.
Productions & Editing
Let’s take a look at what we’ve been up to here at The Cosmic Outpost and Roll4Sanity. We’ve done some editing – remember when I said it would take about 12 hours to do that audio? Well, fortunately, that piece of audio only took 9 hours in total but then I had to spend another six hours editing another piece of audio. So, imagine spending 15 hours working on two pieces of audio each, about an hour in length, just to get them to a point where it’s not going to send people to sleep or get people to switch off.
I don’t mind telling you, folks as you’re reading this (thank you very much!) but times like this soul-destroying. I’m not after praise or reward, but doing something on your own time for other people has to be a little bit fun right?
February saw the recording of the next Miskatonic Playhouse main stage production. They are going to be nice chunky 90 minute episodes about a Regency tale set in Buxton. The gang playing the game really know their Regency stuff so it’s quite nice to listen to the game while they play it as I do the recording making production notes.
Fast Talk & Adventures Played
For the next Fast Talk, that will be out in the next few days, The Cosmic Outpost is joined by Bridgett Jeffries. The only way I could describe Bridgett is a force of nature – Bridgett is one of those people you’ll be glad to have heard about, let alone have the privilege of talking to Bridgett. But the thing I love about Bridget is she has such well-organised thoughts! I’ll try to remember to add a link here to the show.
The Orient Express rolled on, well tried but it got stopped by a bomb which was very fortunate actually because it turns out that a piece of the puzzle we need just happens to be in this town. We’ve been having fun battling mutant monsters but they were quite deadly. My character took a major wound with just one hit and five successive first aid skill rolls failed!
Over on the Eternal Lies campaign, we have rectified our injuries from January to some extent and found ourselves in England which is always quite fun as the writers don’t tend to add in extras like eating Spotted Dick in the pub where we stayed. I had another one of those fantastically spooky moments – they don’t come along very often but it really is very nice to get them and just adds a chill to the game that you don’t normally get.

I also had another shorter game – Singers of Dhols which is quite a well-regarded scenario. I’m playing a family member, which I don’t usually like playing but I trust this keeper even if this family member is practically straight out of a Kult game – he’s so broken and slightly twisted that it’s one of the more memorable characters that I have played.
Conventions
Moving on then to conventions. Things are hotting up at The Miskatonic Playhouse. We will be at Chaosium Con UK, the very first Chaosium con held in Great Britain which is fantastic. If you have a look at the at the convention’s game schedule, you will see there is a Saturday night game with which we’re and Mike Mason is the Keeper.
So this means lots of planning and thinking to be done. The Cosmic Outpost will be there trying to capture it in so many ways depending on how much kit they can squeeze into the suitcase for travel to earth!
100 days to UK Games Expo. Things are looking a little bit shady for Roll4Sanity being at the Games Expo at the moment. Not entirely sure whether money-wise and organisational-wise things will happen which is a bit of a shame as the atmosphere of the Expo was really nice and really enjoyable to meet people.
Same goes for attending Dragon Con – it really does depend on what the end of the year brings and which orbit The Cosmic Outpost will be in to possibly manifest in London. It would be nice to see all the podcasting people who are also making the journey, so think positive thoughts and you never know.
March will be quieter with no Playhouse productions planned but another Fast Talk will be recorded and hopefully get a chance for finish of some vids for YouTube. As we turn the page of the calendar to March, we are greeted by a delightful voluptuous fairy that the AI decided to create for me, and I will tell you more about her in the next blog entry at the end March.
Thank you for reading, and we’ll roll4sanity again soon.
