Welcome to 2026 as we reach the end of the first month! On our header image is our astronaut from the Cosmic Outpost looking out on a fantastical cosmos. This was a lovely image that came out of the prompt I gave the Ai and it just stopped me there and then. To have it coming out with such a nice symmetry, colours, the Galaxy in the background just captured what I wanted to see from my imagination. If you break it down in reality it’s a lone Astronaut staring out into a Galaxy all by himself but that’s okay. If you’re by yourself reading this, then the universe is with you, if you have people around you, the universe is also in them. Whatever you believe, let’s make this year about being kind. Because in this cosmic dance of chaos and wonder, kindness is our shared language. Mythos Investigators know better than anybody else that in this huge unforgiving cosmic void of horror, it’s about helping our fellow investigator. What will you do today to add a little more wonder – or kindness – to the void?
Productions and Editing
First up productions and I’m really happy with the neon Tokyo Yumi character video that has been put out. It can be difficult to be happy with it because I know there are some people out there that will absolutely hate the use of AI. I get where folks are coming from on stolen creations but sometimes I get sick to death of having to justify the use of AI. I’m dyslexic and I can’t draw so the AI supports me to be creative. I’m not an artist I just want to see something from my imagination come to life. I actually wrote a bit of a behind the scenes blog on the making of the video but reading it back it was more of an excuse. If you don’t like what Roll4Sanity is because I use AI then I respect your choice not to watch. For those who did check out the vid, I’m really happy with the anime that came out. First it was a character description and then creating scenes which then were converted into video – so many attempts to get what I wanted! But it all came together for the Tokyo sequence. Annoyingly I got a copyright notice on some music I used which was “royalty free” so the video wasn’t as cool as I wanted it to be. To support the video and “add value” I put out the character sheet on the website. I’ve been doing roll4sanity for a little while now making all these characters and it only recently occurred to me to make the character sheets available. I might as well include the images I generate too and you know I make lots of notes on these characters so let’s feed my dyslexic notes through an AI to give you a competent well organised back story for a ready to play character!

What with Christmas and a January finishing the Yumi vid, I haven’t had to do much editing. I had to record some lines for the Delta Green actual play podcast New Dawn where I had to try to remember where those lines fit into the story! It’s sounding very good, Charlie has put his heart and soul into this podcast so please do check it out if you haven’t already. We’re just coming up on a case call Blood Rain where, slight spoilers, my character agent Armitage gets to show off his skills with which I was very pleased.
Then more preparation rather than editing, I’ve been producing some artwork for the next Miskatonic Playhouse production for which I’ll be the Keeper! I won’t say too much because obviously you have to go visit the Miskatonic Playhouse in a couple of months to see what it’s all about.

Adventures Played
Well we’re still in Berlin being not the smartest investigators as long story short, a name of an NPC came up that we probably should have looked at three months ago! It was humorous when that name came up and we suddenly realised we could have possibly done the entire adventure faster than we have been doing if only we’d have picked up the clue! But a hard success on my Cthulhu Mythos skill and we might be in with a chance of protecting ourselves!
And we’re back on the Orient express where, for a man of medicine that heals people, my doctor is absolutely kicking ass with cultists that seemed to be cropping up as we get to the finale of the Orient express. Sometimes his shots are pretty normal other times they can be spectacular – I mean you don’t often roll a critical handgun shot! To say I turned occultist’s head into a spray of missed probably is about the easiest way to describe it as I did 22 points of damage with one bullet! Again, I know I say Call of Cthulhu isn’t all about the combat but who doesn’t like dealing out some damage like that! But we’ve had items stolen and need to recover them before we can bring an end to our journey.

Masks!
Now, a new section we’re adding to the blog is going to be about the Masks of Nyarlathotep where this player turns keeper! Yes I am prepping to running Masks for not just one group hopefully two groups. The Berlin crew (literally the Berlin crew) are prepping their characters which I am delighted to read because I do love characters and thinking what their story will be. Masks is such a good campaign because it supports the players to drive it’s amazing story with events happening whether the players are there or not! Just think of Raiders of the Lost Ark we know the story would have carried on if Indy hadn’t of been there but still he was there and he took us along for that adventure.
There won’t be any major spoilers but I will let you know how they are getting on as best as I can. They’re going to start with a little extra scene of mine which is a company medical for their characters before they join the 1st expedition. A couple of psychologists I think will grill them about their previous expertise what they’re willing to do and tease a little bit out about the characters motivations. I do want each of the characters to have an arc so if we establish a baseline for the characters now and where they see themselves in the future; then as the keeper I get to subvert that! It will be very very fun!
I shall wrap up by turning over to the next page and seeing the image which is one that did take a lot of a I work. It is a quintet of androids playing classical music and I’ll tell you the story about that next time. Thanks for reading and we’ll roll4sanity again soon.
