November Blog – 2025

Well I hope the festive season is in full swing where you are and you are enjoying all the things that you want to enjoy! Our blog image this month is a picture of a ghost hunter with a ghost behind them. I had some fun with this one with numerous ghost hunter being created to varying degrees of success because I was generating this in 2024 and AI fingers weren’t quite what they are now! The image is based on a Pulp Cthulhu Ghost Detector and all the elements I wanted came out with a light bulb illuminating the lady’s face and a rather fun sort of ghost behind is a green mist. So despite the lady needing a bit of a manicure I was very happy with this one.

Productions and Editing

Moving on to productions and editing – it’s been a very forgettable month as things seemed to have just rolled past so quickly. The last edits for the Playhouse went through okay despite the the video editing programme being a pain at the last minute. I managed to figuring out that slowing the render speed down a little can actually squeeze enough information through the computer to get a file rendered.

The New Dawn podcast in which I play a character in has been released and by the time this blog comes out we will have completed our first investigation and this was a bit of a fun exploratory one. We weren’t expecting too much from the first adventure but we set the scene for our characters and an little bit of back story on my character was developed for Special Agent Armitage. Do check out New Dawn it’s a very different kind of Actual Play Adventure!

On roll4sanity we’re wrapping up the Occupation video and you be getting a Demon Hunter character creation video to finish the characters videos of the gaslight era we’ve been doing. It’s worth mentioning, although not much progress was made, I’ve started writing an adventure for the Miskatonic Repositiry. I enjoyed making the Demon Hunter character, I even created a Korean monster for the Miskatonic Repository Con that I wanted to include in an adventure. But I’ve been ill in November – yes even here at the cosmic outpost we’re not immune to the bugs that circulate in the universe. So a 30 day writing challenge was cut down into about 15 because when you’re ill you kind of lose track of, well anything you wanted to do anything really. But it will be nice to wrap that up at some point as I got to the final scene where, yes it’s a bit of a Cthulhu trope where will be a summoning but not quite in the way people think.

Fast Talk and Adventures played

I think I’m going to record the last Fast Talk for a while as I mentioned last time, I need to enjoy something to commit the time to it. Fast Talk is supposed to last for an hour but yeah after being ill you kind of lose your focus and creativity and think to yourself “well is anybody going to miss the last fast talk?”  As a creative we just put somethings out in the hope that somebody will read it, view it, of engage with it and I’m small enough not to be missed which suits me just fine. So I’ll see how I feel as it will be good to wrap up the year with Fast Talk

Adventures played it’s been the usually camnpaigns. We’ve been on the Orient Express and have restarted our trip into Constantinople which is nice to get back into. The doctor character I play is very good at dispatching people as well as healing. Our group is sufficiently adept now to be able to dispatch a bunch of five goons in a couple of rounds,  I was able to take down two with some fancy shooting and some very nice dice rolls. Then the Occultist in the group was able to use their magic knife to take someone’s head clean off! Now Call of Cthulhu isn’t meant to be combat focussed but when it does come around with those dice roll land to give you the hit and damage that you need to take care of business quickly then that can be very very good fun.

In Berlin, our characters are experiencing sleepless night and are population the local aquarium with the tiny squid we are regurgitating as we wake from our dreams!

Productions and Editing

I didn’t make it to Dragonmeet I can’t say I’m terribly cut up about that.  I’ve been to the Expo centre before and I don’t think it’s a great venue hopefully it’s improved and access to the event was swift. Looking at the pictures, hearing people being charged £25 a day for parking after they just driven a whole tonne of miles to get. It just seemed the same but less busy than UK games Expo. With something like that if you going to travel a great distance and maybe even stay over it’s gotta be worth it for all that costs. You can get a flovour from Stef1885’s blog on the convention:

We’re just waiting on the dates for Chaosiumcon UK 2026. If Chaosium are going to be at UK games Expo I would expect them to hold Chaosiumcon UK on the weekend before games Expo so all the people that are coming over to be at Chaosiumcon UK can then just stay on a few days and make their way to the UK games Expo but we shall see. It would be nice if it wasn’t on top of UK games Expo so mere mortals finances can recover but we’ll enjoy going there because we know what to expect.

December is going to be a bit of a down month I think that just to be games played. Yes I’ll be doing some production work for the Roll4sanity channel but its been a long compressed year that has flown by so I want to be relaxing and taking it easy. Let’s flip the calendar over to the next image, I genuinely can’t remember what image this is going to be! Taking us into December we have an academic sitting at a table reading probably some kind of tome of forgotten lore. Thanks for reading and we’ll Roll4sanity again soon!
